These include artists, musicians, writers, philosophers and intellectuals from both sides of the Rhine, as well as institutions and managers of structures that have made these exchanges their vocation. It all began with the universities, but the wars complicated matters, to say the least. Then a few great politicians like Jean Monnet, for example, were able to take things further by laying the foundations for Europe, this reconciliation and this partnership that is still needed today. So let's be optimistic and make our modest contribution to this haven of peace.
