Did you know? Salt, now a simple condiment, was nicknamed "white gold" centuries ago. Does a salary ring a bell? Well... in days gone by, Roman soldiers received a handful of salt as compensation.
At the Salies-de-Béarn salt works, you'll learn all about the production process for this famous 100% natural white salt, which comes from the bowels of the earth. 2000 tonnes of coarse salt and flower of salt are harvested each year. You'll help to package your own fleur de sel and create your own label.
Whether you're a gourmet in short or long pants, we're waiting for you!
Two departures are possible: 10.30 am and 2.30 pm.
Number of participants: 5 minimum to 15 maximum. Bookings required at the Tourist Office.
