Viellesegure, a small typical Béarn village, is on the road to Navarrenx, close to Sauvelade and the Way of St. James.
The bastide was founded in 1339 on a transhumance route, near a castle of the Viscount of Béarn, which was quickly transformed into a fortress (now destroyed). One of the largest bastide squares in Béarn. The agricultural vocation still exists today, a variety of houses from the 17th to the 19th centuries.
