Description

Join us to celebrate diversity – that of plants, languages and cultures! 9.30 am: Welcome coffee at Place de la Mude. 9.45 am: Botanical walk through the town. To celebrate plants and their richness, we’ll be joined by Cristau Contreras, a tireless explorer, mycologist and botanist. As we discover plants in the town’s most iconic spots, we’ll explore their Latin, French and Béarnais names, their habitats, uses and resilience. 11.30 am: a talk with David Grosclaude at the Moment Librairie, focusing on his latest book *Diversity: Surviving Climate Change and Cultural Cooling*. 12.30 pm: drinks reception. 1.00 pm: potluck lunch followed by a sing-along! These tours are unique in that they are conducted in Béarnais Occitan; ‘topinetas’ and ‘topinets’ will be on hand to translate into the visitors’ languages.
