Description

Did you know? Salt, now a simple condiment, was nicknamed "white gold" centuries ago. Well... previously, Roman soldiers received a handful of salt as compensation for their work. At the salt works of Salies-de-Béarn, you'll learn all about the production process for this famous 100% natural white salt, which comes from the bowels of the earth. 2000 tonnes of coarse salt and flower of salt are harvested each year. You'll help to package your own "fleur de sel" and create your own label. We're waiting for you! Two guided tours are possible: 10.30 am and 2.30 pm. Number of participants: 5 minimum to 15 maximum. Bookings required at the Tourist Office.
