Description
#StolenMemory: when objects become witnesses to the Holocaust...
The exceptional travelling exhibition #StolenMemory revives the memory of the victims of Nazism.
It is a deeply moving journey into the private lives of the victims of Nazism through their personal belongings, which were taken from them in the concentration camps. The Nazis confiscated their victims’ possessions upon their arrest. Jewellery, letters, photographs, documents and small mementos – reminders of a life before the horror – were taken from them upon their arrival at the camps. Preserved for over 80 years, these objects now await return to their families.
#StolenMemory simply preserves several thousand personal items from the camps. They do not belong to the archives.
